From November 19 to 21, the House of Culture hosts the III Conference of the Canary Timple Association

The Timple House Museum will host a new edition of a program that will bring together virtuosos, scholars, artisans and lovers of the timple during this weekend. The III Timpleando Conference will be held from November 19 to 21 in Villa de Teguise.

 

“We are delighted to rescue this fair around the Canarian instrument par excellence, which occupies a privileged place in the Real Villa de Teguise, which houses the only museum in the world dedicated to timple,” said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, who It presented the new conferences and the agenda of events designed by the Culture area, coordinated by Nori Machín.

 

The conference, which will open on Friday, November 19, at 6.30 p.m. at the Timple House-Museum, has the close collaboration of its curator, Benito Cabrera, and the Canary Timple Association, as well as the sponsorship de Binter, Cicar and the Canarian Institute for Rural Development.

 

“We thank Benito Cabrera and the Timple Association for organizing a program that will bring to Teguise those who know the most about timple history, music and crafts,” said Nori Machín, inviting the public to enjoy some of the proposals that include concerts, photo exhibitions and conferences.

12:00 h. Master class by the timplist David Rodríguez Santana.

17:30 h. Awards ceremony: Timplista: Don Ramón Gil Martel. Craftsman: Don Honorio Pulido Sánchez. Next, luther lecture by luthier Honorio Pulido Sánchez.

18:45 h. Lecture by Benito Cabrera: “A World of Guitarrillos”.

 Solidarity calendar “Teguise with La Palma”

 

The mayor of Teguise and the Councilor for Culture took the opportunity to present at the Timple House Museum the charity calendar designed by the City Council to support the residents of La Palma, the proceeds of which will go to those affected by the volcano.

 

Each 2022 almanac is priced at 5 euros.
